Felicitating Toppers cum Welcoming Freshers

Auxilium Girls School, Agartala takes pride in the exceptional talents of its students and never fails to award them for their hard work and dedication. This year was no exception as well. The 3rd batch of Class XII and 7th batch of Class X made Auxilium proud by their outstanding performance in the CBSE Board exams. As in every year, June 21, 2017 was dedicated to congratulate the Topper and to welcome the Freshers.

This remarkable ceremony began by the welcoming of the guests Mr.GVS Satyanarayan Rao, General Manager and Asset support Manager, ONGC; Guest of honour Dr. P.K.Pandey, Dean, College Of Fisheries and Mr. Suket Gupta, DGM, ONGC, as Guest of honour and many special invitees: Fr. Sunny Joseph, Rector, Don Bosco School, Bro. Anand Prakash Lakra, Principal, Don Bosco School, Members of Managing Committee, some parents representatives, Class X and XII Toppers with their parents.

The programme commenced sharp at 12.00 noon with the lighting of the lamp followed by the welcome song “It’s a beautiful day”. To give a glimpse of the life of Auxilians and to motivate the toppers, Sr. Celine D’Cunha, Principal did a wonderful PowerPoint presentation along with the welcome speech and felicitation ceremony of the guests and invitees. She highlighted the uniqueness and speciality of Auxilium School and the quality education that is being imparted.

To captivate the atmosphere and to make the day colourful and memorable, some very beautiful and graceful dances were performed by the students – the middle-school students danced to the rhythm of ‘Maya bono biharini’ to teach us the value of nurturing nature, a tribal dance was performed by the students of High School.

The most awaited moment was when the toppers of class 10 who secured CGPA 10 were awarded with a trophy and a certificate of excellence and the Toppers of Class XII (80% and above) were also awarded with a Trophy and a Certificate of Excellence and those who secured 90% and above were also awarded with a cash prize of Rs 1000/- . There were surprises awaited the best three from Science and Humanities stream. The entire programme took a different turn when the chief guest, Mr. GVS Satyanarayan Rao, in his speech mentioned that ONGC has decided to award cash prizes of Rs.6000, Rs. 4000 and Rs.2500 to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd rank holders of class XII from our school from Science and Humanities stream respectively. Sr. Celine and every one of us appreciated their great initiative towards motivating the students. It was truly a memorable moment and a great surprise which was welcomed with a very thunderous round of applause by the entire audience. The Chief Guest highly praised the management and staff of Auxilium, for their discipline, excellent programme, outstanding performance, state-of-the art performance. The entire award giving ceremony was coordinated by Sr. Rihun Sten, Vice Principal and Mr. Joydeep Sarkar, a staff member.

Being an Auxilian for many years, Romita Roy of class XI (a Fresher) shared her experience in this family and also her expectation as a fresher. After that, our Guest of Honor, Dr. P.K. Pandey inspired us with his motivational message followed by the words of welcome from Mrs. Poonam Mukherjee, a staff member, on behalf of all the staff. Ms. Samriddhi Chakma, Class XII topper from our school this year, shared her experience of being in the Auxilian family and expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all the teachers and to Sr. Celine D’Cunha, in particular – the perfect guide, philosopher and friend that an Auxilian have ever come across in the journey of life, Dr. Lopamudra Halder, parent of Olivia Halder gave a short message on behalf of the parents of all the toppers, expressing her sentiments of grateful thanks for the quality education and family like atmosphere that exists in Auxilium.

Emphasizing on the words of Malala Yousafzai,’ONE TEACHER, ONE BOOK, ONE PEN CAN CHANGE THE WORLD’, the Auxilians presented a beautiful dance-drama highlighting the importance of educating the girl children and empowering them and helping them to soar high.

As a programme cannot end without thanking all the people who worked for it to make it a successful event and all those without whose presence, this programme would not have reached its zenith, so to do this honor, Miss Mrigakshi Saha of class XI presented the vote of thanks on behalf of all . The solemn ceremony ended with the National Anthem enriching the thought of a wonderful holy place awaiting the life of Freshers.
