On February 5, 2015 Mother General Yvonne Reungoat with the consent of her Council appointed Sr. Borja Runita as the new General Councilor for Youth Ministry in the place of Sr. Cocco Maria Teresa

who because of health reasons had asked Mother General to relief her from the mission as assigned to her during the elections at the GC 23. This was done under Article. 134 c “the substitution, until the next General Chapter, of a General Councillor who has died or who is permanently prevented from attending to her duties.”

Sr. Runita was born on June 5, 1966 in Manila, Philippines and made her first religious profession on May 23, 1992.  After serving in the province as religion teacher  and provincial coordinator for youth ministry, she took her master’s degree in Youth Ministry atUniversità Pontificia Salesiana in Rome.   In 2004, she started giving her active collaboration in the Youth Ministry Sector in the Generalate giving her best contribution in the reflection and also in the animation of many provinces.   Last year, she joined the province of Cambodia-Myanmar as missionary sent by Mother Yvonne.

Let us thank Sr. Maria Teresa Cocco for her serene acceptance of the will of the Father and together with her let us welcome with faith “God’s surprises.”  We assure her of our prayers and we  entrust the new mission of Sr.Runita to Mary Help of Christians and to Don Bosco in this year of the bicentenary of his birth.
