Orange Day Celebration at Auxilium Shillong

Auxilium Girls Higher Secondary School celebrated Orange Day on 25th July to mark the anniversary of its foundation. The day began with the wearing of orange ribbon by all the Students from the time of the Assembly and the day long. Then at eleven o clock in the morning, a special function was held in the school hall where the Chief Guest for the day was Shri Vivek Syiem, Superintendent of Police, Shillong City and guest of honour was Mrs. M. L. Warjri, Officer of Child protection Office East Khasi Hills.

After the reception of Guests there was the prayer dance performed by the students and the prayer prepared by FMA India was said together. The first Speech was delivered by Smt. M. L. Warjri. Her speech was about the problem faced by women and girls in our society, the types of violence they encountered, the solutions and ways to overcome the problems. It was an interactive session with the students. Some items were performed by the three clubs related to the day’s function and the Chief Guest spoke at length on the various problems and cases that he as an S.P come across in our State. He explained to the girls too how to know self defense as well. The programme has enriched everyone present and above all the Students came to know more of their rights and protection that can be received from authority. We thank God for such wonderful experiences.
