The Salesian Sisters of Shillong Province has spread its wings to another presence in the Cachar district of Assam in a place called Dholai. April 9, saw its humble inauguration with Sr. Manoda Sangma and Sr. Eugenia Bareh as its pioneering members.
The presence of many of our Sisters from the nearby communities and from Shillong have brought much joy and encouragement to the pioneers as well as for the people of the area.
Sr. Marvella Shangpliang the Vice Provincial inaugurated the centre in the presence of the Parish Priest Fr. Joachim Walder and some Salesians from the nearby institutions. The students and parents too were present for the inaugural function. At present the two Sisters stay at the nearest community called Kabuganj near Silchar. The people of the village warmly welcomed the Sisters and expressed their gratitude to them for this new venture in the village. They were confident that the Sisters would bring integral education to their children and the generations to come.
