Mother Yvonne Reungoat Appointed by Pope Benedict XVI to Participate in the Extraordinary Synod of Bishops

Mother Yvonne Reungoat Appointed by Pope Benedict XVI to Participate in the Extraordinary Synod of Bishops’, ‘Rome (Italy). Mother Yvonne Reungoat, FMA Superior General, has been appointed by Pope Benedict XVI to participate as Listener at the Extraordinary Synod of Bishops. In a letter from the Holy See received on September 14, the Secretary General of the Synod, Msgr. Nikola Eterovi? wrote: “I have the honor to inform you that the Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI, according to the norm of Art. 7, Par. 2 of Ordo Synodi Episcoporum, has appointed you as Listener in the XIII Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops on the theme ‘The New Evangelization for the Transmission of the Christian Faith’ which will be held in the Vatican on October 7 to 28, 2012.

On this occasion, I wish to extend my greetings for the trust that the Holy Father has given you in this opportunity to be of service to the universal Church.”

In the same letter, the Archbishop explained that during the Synod, a certain number of persons will be present as Listeners (priest, women and men religious, laity), those who have particular competence related to the synodal theme. He specified: “The active presence of the Listeners is related to their vocation and their life of faith, as members of the ecclesial community and the roles that they are carrying out in the mission of the Church. As such, responding generously and enthusiastically to the appeal of the Holy Father, each one would play a unique role during the event that will celebrate the true nature of the Church.”

Let us rejoice with Mother Yvonne for this appointment. Every FMA can feel more participation in the life of the Church in a moment which is important and delicate in her history. Prayers, being one with Mother, affection of each FMA and the Educating Comunities will accompany Mother Yvonne every day in this precious service to the Church.
