IWD 2014 celebrated at FMA Outreach

The 8th March of every year is always a remarkable event to celebrate the International Women’s day whose birth was seen more than 100 years back.

With the theme “Inspiring Change for Empowerment” the community of FMA Outreach, Shillong hosted the day’s celebration with the active participation and representation  of the sisters, Novices, trainees, teachers, young women  and girls from the different communities of the Province of Shillong to mark the day’s societal occasion. It was a moment to inspire and empower change in the lives of many women through the competent sharing of Ms. Farida Warjri, Advisor Northeast Network, an organization working for women’s rights in north east of India and Mrs. Liza B. Rynjah, a government school teacher. The 102 participants were enlightened much and boosted with inner convictions for a better tomorrow through their expertise in the exposition of the matter on women’s empowerment and in uplifting the lives of their families and communities.

The afternoon session saw the skills training in computer hardware and bag making which was a concrete act of empowering these women.
