23rd May was an auspicious day at Bellefonte as we celebrated the Diamond Jubilee of the religious profession of our dear Sr. Catherine Susngi. This day was marked by thanksgiving, jubilations and festivity.

At 10 in the morning the Eucharistic Celebration began with the solemn entrance procession. Sr. Catherine our Jubilarian approached the altar led by two pre-aspirants dressed in traditional costumes accompanied by Sr. Carmelina Sun the animator of the house and her family members. The main celebrant of the Holy Eucharist was the Provincial of Silchar Province, Fr. George Maliekal and eight other priests concelebrated. In his homily, Fr. George told that Jubilee is the celebration of God’s faithfulness and his loving accompaniment during these 60 diamond years of her religious life.

After the Holy Eucharist a felicitation programme followed where the novices, the pre- aspirants and some other communities staged few items to honour the Jubilarian. The program began with the opening chorus from the novices and pre- aspirants followed by other exuberant items. The day concluded with a message from the Jubilarian in which she voiced out the overflow of her heart through a song. She thanked everyone profusely for journeying with her all through the years of her religious life.

The success of the day is attributed to the Animators of the different communities of our Province, our friends and well- wishers who have contributed and supported towards the celebration. A special note of thanks to the Sisters of Nongthymmai Community and the Postulants from Saiden who were present with us for the immediate preparation.
