Dearest Sisters,

I have in my heart the strong desire to reach you one by one, to enter each community, to encounter your faces and to see each other, and to wish you with affection and deep joy, a Holy Christmas and New Year 2014 rich in holiness and apostolic fruitfulness.

The true reason for our joy is the ability to savour the miracle of love in the incarnation of God’s Son.  We receive Him with the awe of the little ones, of the humble, of those who know how to marvel at the great things He works in the Church, in world society, in the young, in the history of the Institute, and in each one of us.

I renew my greetings for a luminous Christmas and New Year 2014 of peace and serenity to you dear Sisters, to your families, to our Salesian Confreres, and in particular, to the Rector Major Fr. Pascual Chávez Villanueva, to the members of the Salesian Family, to the young people, and to all the persons I have met on my numerous journeys.

I thank you with all my heart, in the name of the Council as well, for the many greetings that have come and for those that will arrive and I promise my constant prayer.
