Blessing of the foundation stone at Dholai

The dawn of 7 October 2016 brought along feelings of joy and gratitude for the day witnessed the laying of the foundation stone of the school building at Auxilium Dholai.

Coinciding with the feast of the Holy Rosary, the School looks up to the patronage of Mary under whose name the school stands. The  venture will house many young boys and girls and will be the haven of knowledge and virtue for many. The foundation was laid and blessed by Rt. Rev. Stephen Rotluanga CSC, DD., Bishop of Aizawl diocese.   It was preceded with the solemn Holy Eucharist celebrated in our chapel at Auxilium, Kabuganj, celebrated by Rev. Fr. Gnana Jesu Kumar the Assistant Parish Priest of Kabuganj Parish at 7.00 am. It was the best way of embarking on to such an important task. After the breakfast we proceeded to the school site at Mahadevpur, Dholai for the ceremony where a short but meaningful ceremony of the blessing of the foundation stone took place marking the significance of the day.

At the outset Sr. Marcellina Sangma, the Provincial Economer introduced to the gathering the significance of the occasion and accorded warm welcome to everyone present. A bouquet and a gamosha– the traditional wear, typical of the State of Assam was presented to Bishop Stephen as a sign of welcome by the student representatives. This was followed by a short prayer service. The document of the foundation stone was then read, followed by the blessing and laying of the foundation stone by Bishop. Bishop Stephen in his speech expressed his joy in the work that is being initiated which in the future would be a channel to reach out to the people around and cater to their spiritual need as well. He also imparted his blessing upon the venture and assured his support. Thanking the local people present for the support they give to the Sisters he requested them to continue to help the Sisters in their endeavours.  Traditional Bengali Sweets were then served for all present to mark the joy of this event. We are grateful to all present and their support: our workers who worked hard to keep things ready, Sisters from nearby communities, leaders of the locality and parents representatives as well as student representatives.

As we came to the end of our small but meaningful ceremony our hearts are overwhelmed with gratitude to God for his blessings and his intervention in our mission here in a very marvellous and tangible way. ‘We saw miracle today’ is the phrase we all uttered as we experienced His special care for us today. We believed that God always walks before us. As we were heading from Kabuganj to Dholai we saw sunshine and a dry land. Approaching Dholai we had rain, heavy rain which almost dampened our spirit. Taking it for God’s blessing we went ahead determined to complete the program as planned. On reaching the site and having landed in our land we were all surprised to see only our plot was dry while there was rain even outside our compound. This is truly God’s blessing. We were all astounded. It was beyond our imagination. Though it continued to rain heavily the other side there was just a little drizzle in our plot and the sun came up smiling over us flooding us with the dazzling rays of God’s blessings enabling us to carry on our program as scheduled. We were amazed and grateful to God for being with us in such an awesome way. Our gratitude is to Sr. Isabella Suja the Provincial for the constant help and support who could not be present for the occasion due to the coincidence of other significant programmes of the Province on the same day and to Sr. Marcellina who worked so hard to make things happen. Having seen the miracle right at the start of this great venture we are fired up to proceed ahead with strong conviction that God always walks before us and that our Blessed Mother continue to guide our every step.
