Reception of Postulants’ Medal at Saiden

Every year 7th October is a special day for our province especially for the community of Auxilium Training Centre, Saiden. This year the Lord has blessed us with many vocations who, generously answered to his invitation. 20 Aspirants courageously came forward to say yes to God on this day and received the Postulant’s medal. “Do not be afraid, you are my servant my chosen people whom I love” (Is 44:2) was the theme that would accompany them during their Postulancy.

The programme began with the welcoming speech of Sr. Phyllis Bamon, the animator followed by the prayer service for the reception of the Postulants’ medal. The entrance procession was very meaningful, where one of them carried the small tender plant. As the plant needs tender care, manure, water, sunshine in order to live and grow so too the young candidates are in need of help and support possible, in order to go ahead in their vocational journey of following the Lord in the footsteps of Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello. Sr. Isabella Suja addressed the postulants about the call; comparing our call to that of Jeremiah. When God called him, he was a doubtful candidate but God did not leave him, God provided graces and blessings and prepared him for a mission. She encouraged them saying: Mary our mother will take each of them by the hand and present them to her son Jesus. Therefore, no one should be discouraged for Jesus and Mary are there by our side to lead and support us on our journey.

After the reception of the medal the Sisters, Novices and Aspirants broke into loud applause congratulating them and also few items were presented to wish and encourage them to be firm and convinced in their choice. The postulants also expressed their love and gratitude to God for calling and accompanying them through the song “You have called me from my mother’s womb”.

The day was blessed with the presence of Sr. Isabella Suja, Provincial, Sisters from other communities and the Novices.
